SlimPul® Pipe Repair Tool Kit

The SlimPul® toolkit is designed to assemble compatible couplings and sleeves when a damaged underfloor heating pipe needs to be repaired or an existing pipe length needs to be extended. The compact fitting profile reduces the amount of surrounding panel or floor construction that must be removed compared with bulkier repair fittings. Repairs must only be completed on a straight section of pipe. SlimPul® fittings must not be installed on or immediately within a pipe bend, and the completed joint should remain accessible for inspection until it has been pressure tested in accordance with the UFH system requirements. The kit includes 12mm and 16mm pull-fitting jaws together with three dedicated expanding heads. These are provided for AmbiFlex® P12 pipe, AmbiFlex® P16 and TraffiPipe® T16 pipe, and AmbiFlex® M16 multilayer pipe. The correct expander, coupling and sleeves must be selected for the pipe type and diameter. A complete SlimPul® joint requires one matching coupling and two sleeves, which are available separately. After the pipe has been cut square, the sleeves are positioned over the pipe ends and the correct expander is used to prepare the pipe. The coupling is then inserted and the fitting is placed between the pull jaws. Closing the tool draws the sleeves towards the coupling until they reach their final position. The tool has an 80mm stroke and weighs approximately 1.6kg, providing a portable manual solution without the need for battery-powered or hydraulic equipment. SlimPul® fittings are manufactured from PPSU engineering plastic and do not rely on rubber sealing rings. Their slim profile starts from approximately 19mm, helping minimise disruption when completing repairs within low-profile UFH panels and other restricted floor constructions. The published SlimPul® specification also states that the fitting provides a larger internal bore than conventional repair fittings, helping reduce unnecessary restriction through the repaired section of pipe.
